Snow White and the Huntsman Takes Box Office Crown

Snow White and the Huntsman avoided any curses at the box office this weekend, taking the crown rather easily with an impressive haul of $56.3 million.

For those with interest, the figure is the high mark for any Twilight actor in a non-Twilight role Taylor Lautner's Valentine's Day in 2010, a film in which the Twilight Saga stud only played a bit role.

In other franchise news, The Hunger Games finally finished outside Top 10 for the first time since March. During its run, it racked up a quartet of number-one finishes and garnered just under $400 million domestically.

Here's a look at the weekend's top five:

  1. Snow White and the Huntsman: $56.3 million
  2. Men in Black 3: $29.3 million
  3. The Avengers: $20.3 million
  4. Battleship: $4.8 million
  5. The Dictator: $4.7 million
